JOB SUMMARY
To deliver a programme of activities to children and supervise the Assistant Playleader (Crèche).
KEY TASKS
1. Plan and organise an interesting and varied programme of indoor and outdoor activities which will stimulate and develop children both mentally and physically.
2. Ensure the safety and good conduct of children during all organised activities.
3. Supervise Assistant Playleader (Crèche).
4. Check that all play equipment is in a safe condition and stored safely after use.
5. Keep the interior of the facility clean and maintain a high standard of hygiene and tidiness.
6. Be aware of and carry out all emergency and evacuation procedures.
7. Render first aid as appropriate.
8. Maintain and develop good relations with parents.
9. To ensure that Corporate policies and procedures are adhered to at all times.
No Job Description can cover every issue that may arise within the post at various times and the post holder is expected to carry out other duties from time to time which are broadly consistent with those in this Job Description.
QUALIFICATIONS (ESSENTIAL)
NNEB or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare eg Caring for Children and Young People, Early Years Care and Education or equivalent.
QUALIFICATIONS (DESIRABLE)
A current recognised First Aid Certificate e.g. British Red Cross, St. Johns Ambulance, Order of Malta
EXPERIENCE (ESSENTIAL)
Six months experience in a formal childcare setting.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS (ESSENTIAL)
Good oral communication skills in conversation English.
Knowledge of Child Protection issues
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS (DESIRABLE)
Formal Customer Care Training.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS (ESSENTIAL)
Access to transport to meet the requirements of the post.
Available to work June to August.
Available to undertake training as required during June.
Able to work weekends and Public/Bank Holidays.
Requires AccessNI Clearance.
