MANUFACTURING SPECIALIST

Acting as an Employment business wea re currently recruiting a Manufacturign Specialist for our client based in West Belfast for a temporary ongoing assignment.
 

Job Purpose

To act as the first point of contact for the Technical Services Dept.   To support Manufacturing Engineers and Manufacturing Quality Engineers by identifying manufacturing failures and process Improvement Opportunities.

Job Duties

·         Acting as the interface between the production personnel and the technical services dept

·         Supporting the stop to fix process as members of the Rapid Response Team.

·         Supporting H&S investigations:

·         Assist in the design, development and implementation of improvements

·         Co-ordinating ECN introduction through interfacing with Production and Engineering.

·         Actioning continuous improvement cards raised against the technical services dept

·         Supporting Quality issues resolution

·         Requesting and Actioning deviations

·         Accountable for performing material layout audits to maintain part location accuracy

·         Updating standard work, performing std wk audits and ensuring compliance

·         Performing BOM and routing audits and log and action findings

·         Assist in the development of processes and support new product introduction NPI builds, including APQP activities

·         Working with NPI Engineers to resolve QIR’s

·         Updating of value stream maps to reflect changes in process or demand

·         Participating in rapid improvement workshops (RIWs)

·         Performing tooling audits and maintaining tool inventory

·         Performing time studies

·         Identify tooling improvement opportunities

·         Any other appropriate duties

Criteria

Candidates should have a good standard of education, essentially educated to HNC level. 
Must possess either 2 yrs experience carrying out similar job duties in a manufacturing engineering environment or have obtained a 3^rd level qualification in a relevant engineering discipline

Must possess good communication skills (oral and written), have strong customer focus, good work standards, be able to read and interpret drawings and technical informance and possess good analytical skills.

Must regularly use word and excel packages and be computer literate

Must have the ability to work in a team environment

Ability to work shifts

Highly desirable but not a requirement

A 3^rd level Engineering Qualification or be in process of obtaining one or possess equivalent work experience
