Our client, a global leader in production currently have an exciting opportunity for a Health and Safety Manager. Based within the compliance department you will be responsible for providing technical support and expertise in the areas of health and safety, environment and quality. Reporting to the compliance manager and working at all levels across the site the Health and Safety Manager will lead, develop, implement and maintain a programme to deliver compliance to and improved performance against Health and Safety legislaton and company risk.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 2 years professional industrial practical experiencein Helath and Safety with exposure in the following areas.
Communications and Employee management/influencing, systems nad procedures implementation, standards auditing, risk assesment techniques, project management.
You will also ghave in depth knowledge of relevent occupational health and safety legislation. (UK and EU required), good understanding of risk asesment, auditing, and incident investigation processes, strong analytical and problems solving skills along with good IT and project management skills.
Also essential is a primary or secondary degree in occupational health and safety, or a 3rd level qualification in science/engineering plus a recognised Health and Safety practitioners qualification.
